Tamim Iqbal Maiden Ton Powers BAN to 180/2

Tamim Iqbal hit a strokeful century to guide Bangladesh to a massive 180/2 against Oman in their Group A first round match of the World T20.

Bangladesh face Oman in the first round of the World T20 at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Winner of the match joins Australia, India, New Zealand and Pakistan in Group 2.

Oman stunned Ireland on their tournament debut and would look to make it big against the Mashrafe Mortza-led side tonight. Bangladesh too started their campaign on the right note but they will be wary of Oman's threat as well.

As the two teams get ready to face-off for the first time ever in any form of cricket, rain is likely play spoilsport. It had earlier reduced the Ireland vs Netherlands match at the same venue to six-overs-a-side affair.

Tamim Iqbal has joined the 1,000 runs club in T20 internationals. Shakib Al Hasan (979) is 21 shy of reaching the milestone.
